Vguard is a medical device intended for use in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive disorders. It uses non-invasive neuromodulation through stimulation of the auricular branch of the vagus nerve.
The therapy is administered during sleep, when physiological memory consolidation processes take place.
The decision on whether therapy can be initiated is made by a physician.
What is Vguard?
- Vguard is a therapeutic system comprising a neurostimulation device, specially designed ear electrodes, and software supporting the proper use of the therapy.
- The stimulator delivers controlled electrical impulses to the auricular branch of the vagus nerve without the need for surgery or electrode implantation.
The entire system has been designed for regular, long-term use in accordance with the physician’s recommendations.
How does Vguard work?

Signals transmitted via the vagus nerve pathways modulate neural networks in the brain involved in memory processes, including hippocampal activity.
Non-invasive stimulation
Gentle electrical impulses are delivered through electrodes positioned in the appropriate area of the outer ear. The stimulation does not require surgery or the implantation of electrodes.
